Mitchell Gerstein is a senior tax advisor at Isdaner & Company, LLC. He joined the firm in 2018. He excels in the area of overall client engagement management with a focus on tax compliance, tax planning consultation and business advisory services. Mitchell’s well‐rounded career gives him key insights that enable him to advise all types of clients on a wide variety of high‐level tax and business issues including complex business tax planning and structuring.
Prior to joining Isdaner & Company, Mitchell had transitioned to an “early” retired owner from equity principal at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, a large national accounting firm. He served as the National Health Care Tax Leader and primary business advisor for many healthcare clients in the Northeast Region and served nationally on large clients. Mitchell has more than 30 years serving clients in the healthcare industry including multi-specialty groups, physician groups, senior living, CCRCs and home care.
Mitchell’s consulting experiences with healthcare providers includes serving as a financial advisor to their boards, mergers and acquisitions, succession and strategic planning. He served as a member of the board of directors and financial turnaround task force at the Simpson House, a not-for-profit retirement community.
Mitchell received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Drexel University and earned a Master of Science degree in Taxation with highest honors from Widener University. His professional affiliations include: memberships in the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA -National) and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). In addition, Mitchell served 8+ years as a committee member of The Franklin Institute, currently on the Audience Engagement & Brand Reputation Committee with a focus on earned revenue initiatives and the visitor experience.
Mitch was appointed in 2024 to serve as a member of the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP). He will be serving on the Notices and Correspondence Committee of TAP.
