Mitch Gerstein Appointed to Member of Taxpayer Advocacy Panel
Mitch Gerstein, CPA, PFS, MST, a senior tax advisor at Isdaner & Company, LLC has been appointed to be a Member of the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP). Mitch joins 74 other civic-minded U.S. citizen volunteers from all walks of life representing each state, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. TAP works with the Taxpayer Advocate Service and the IRS operating divisions to identify issues that will benefit from citizen feedback. In addition, the operating divisions utilize TAP to gain pre-decisional feedback on recommendations regarding key program changes that impact taxpayers. Thus, TAP provides a national forum for taxpayers to make their voices heard and to help identify grassroots tax issues of importance to taxpayers.
To become a Member of TAP, there are many qualifications and a rigorous selection process. The appointment is for a three-year term. Mitch will be serving on the notices and correspondence committee.
