Integrated Services Accountant

Job Description/Profile

The Integrated Services accountant role is an ideal position for a candidate new to public accounting, or a candidate with prior experience, who would like to explore some of the various avenues the public accounting profession has to offer. The accountant in this role will gain exposure to various tax, accounting & assurance services, as well as certain aspects of client management., which will provide an opportunity to develop a foundation of skills necessary to become a well-rounded professional in the accounting industry.

Duties include:

  • You will assist in the preparation of financial statements and in performing review and compilation engagements for clients in various industries. These assurance-type services provide the opportunity to engage in discussions with the owners of the businesses and their management which is an integral part of these client engagements.
  • You will prepare personal and business income tax returns. This core competency will allow you to become involved in tax planning projects to assist clients in making certain decisions impacting their personal and business finances.
  • You will perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliations which are important functions in the steps leading up to the preparation of a client’s tax returns and financial statements.
  • You may be given senior-level responsibilities of planning, scheduling, and reviewing certain tax returns and engagements.

You can be successful in this role by developing deeper knowledge in the accounting and tax areas, communicating effectively with the team and clients alike, and demonstrating excellent time management skills in order to meet deadlines.

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or Master’s degree in accounting
  • Entry-level to 7 years of accounting experience (internship experience is accepted)
  • CPA certification (either completed or in the process)
  • Team player with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong technical abilities
  • Willingness to try new complex assignments
