Purpose

The purpose of this DEI policy is to:

  • Promote diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our firm, including recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, and retention.
  • Foster an environment where all individuals are treated with fairness, respect, and dignity.
  • Eliminate barriers that may limit opportunities for underrepresented groups within our firm.
  • Create a culture that values and celebrates individual differences, perspectives, and experiences.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

  • We are committed to building and sustaining a diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
  • We strive to provide equal opportunities for employment and advancement to all individuals based on their qualifications, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic as defined by applicable law.

Recruitment and Hiring

  • We will ensure that our recruitment and hiring practices promote diversity and inclusion by attending Diversity Career & Internship Fairs, Diversity Networking Events, among other Diversity Events in the community, and actively seeking candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives.
  • We will eliminate bias and discrimination in the hiring process by establishing objective criteria and evaluating candidates based on their qualifications, skills, and experience.
  • We will provide equal employment opportunities to all individuals and make reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities.

Training and Development

  • We will provide ongoing training and development opportunities to our employees to foster an inclusive culture, raise awareness of unconscious biases, and promote diversity and inclusion.
  • We will encourage employees to participate in workshops, seminars, and educational programs that enhance their understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • We encourage all employees to give back to the community, while promoting teambuilding and relationship building across our organization through firm-paid community service days.

Promotion and Advancement

  • We will promote individuals based on their qualifications, performance, and potential, without discrimination or bias.
  • We will establish clear and transparent promotion criteria to ensure fairness and equal opportunities for all employees.
  • We will provide mentoring, coaching, and support to underrepresented groups to enhance their career development and advancement opportunities.

Employee Engagement and Support

  • We will encourage open dialogue and communication among employees, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives and experiences are valued.
  • We will establish channels for employees to raise concerns, report incidents of discrimination or harassment, and seek support, ensuring a prompt and fair resolution process.
  • We will maintain confidentiality and protect employees who report incidents of discrimination or harassment from retaliation.

Community Engagement

  • We will actively engage with the communities we serve, supporting initiatives and organizations that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion and share our values.
  • We will encourage our employees to participate in volunteer activities and community outreach programs that align with our DEI values.
  • Isdaner & Company and its employees support and volunteer with the Jewish Relief Agency (JRA), a charitable organization that brings together individuals of all means, ages, and background to address our community’s physical, social and spiritual needs, built on the foundation of food distribution to those battling food
    insecurity in our community.
  • We are long-time supporters of Golden Slipper Charities, a group of charities that serves youth and educational development through summer camp and college scholarship programs and serves adults and older adults through community enrichment programs.
  • We champion the efforts of Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts, a nonpartisan nonprofit that works to educate all Pennsylvanians about our courts and how to navigate them with confidence, and advocates for judicial reforms that promote inclusion and access to justice for all.
  • We passionately support and sponsor the Reading Allowed organization, which fights for every struggling reader to have the highest quality structured literacy instruction regardless of financial circumstances.
  • We support Rebuilding Together Philadelphia, a nonprofit organization providing critical home repairs modifications, and improvements to revitalize communities by transforming vulnerable, owner-occupied houses into safe, healthy, and energy-efficient homes.
